Terms of Service

Article 1 (Purpose) The purpose of these Terms of Service is to stipulate the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of 'THE LAB' (hereinafter referred to as "THE LAB") and the 'Member', and other necessary matters concerning the use of all services provided by THE LAB. Article 2 (Definitions) 1. 'Service' refers to THE LAB and all related services available to the 'Member' regardless of the terminal used for access (including various wired and wireless devices such as PCs and portable terminals). 2. 'Member' refers to a customer who accesses the 'Service' of THE LAB, concludes a use agreement with THE LAB in accordance with these Terms, and uses the 'Service' provided by THE LAB. Article 3 (Copyrights and Use Restrictions) 1. Copyrights and other intellectual property rights for all content, including the 'Service' provided by THE LAB and related programs, designs, texts, images, and software, belong to THE LAB. 2. 'Members' and users of the 'Service' shall not use or allow a third party to use information obtained by using the 'Service', the intellectual property rights of which belong to THE LAB, for commercial or non-commercial purposes by means of reproduction, transmission, publication, distribution, broadcasting, or other methods without the explicit prior consent of THE LAB. Article 4 (Prohibition of Unauthorized Data Collection and Crawling) 1. It is strictly prohibited for anyone to collect, extract, reproduce, process, or post data, content, member information, etc., within the 'Service' on other services using automated means (Crawlers, Scrapers, Spiders, Macro programs, Bots, etc.) or other methods without the explicit consent of THE LAB. 2. Any act of causing load on the system server by generating excessive traffic for the purpose of interfering with the normal operation of the 'Service' is prohibited. 3. In case of violation of Paragraphs 1 and 2, THE LAB may block access from the corresponding IP and restrict the use of the service without prior notice, and may take civil and criminal legal actions, including claims for damages, in accordance with relevant laws (Copyright Act, Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, Unfair Competition Prevention and Trade Secret Protection Act, etc.). Article 5 (Conclusion of Use Agreement and Account Management) 1. The use agreement for the 'Service' is established when a 'Member' agrees to these Terms and the Privacy Policy, applies for registration by linking a social login account from an external platform (e.g., Google) supported by THE LAB, and THE LAB approves the application. 2. For certain services, only users granted access rights through an administrator-led pre-registration process (or corporate clients) can access the 'Service' with a linked account. 3. The 'Member' is responsible for managing the external account used for social login and must not assign, lend, or allow a third party to use it. The 'Member' bears all responsibility for consequences arising from negligent management or unauthorized use of the external account. 4. THE LAB may reserve or refuse approval of the use agreement, and may terminate the use agreement after the fact, in any of the following cases: ① Registration using another person's information or social account ② Intending to use the service for unauthorized or unlawful purposes ③ Having previously lost member status due to violation of relevant laws or these Terms Article 6 (Provision of Services and Exceptions for Paid Services) 1. The 'Service' of THE LAB is generally provided free of charge. However, THE LAB may convert part or all of the service into a paid service (e.g., subscription model) or add new paid services in the future. 2. When paid services are introduced, THE LAB will provide prior notice of specific conditions of use, such as fees, payment methods, and refund policies, through a separate operating policy or an information page within the service. 3. In the event that a separate written contract is concluded between THE LAB and a 'Member' (or corporate client) for the provision of services, the contents of the separate contract shall take precedence over these Terms. Article 7 (Obligations of THE LAB) 1. THE LAB shall not engage in acts prohibited by relevant laws and these Terms or contrary to public morals, and shall do its best to provide continuous and stable 'Service'. 2. THE LAB must possess a security system to protect personal information so that 'Members' can use the 'Service' safely, and shall disclose and comply with the Privacy Policy. 3. THE LAB must address opinions or complaints raised by 'Members' in relation to the use of the service if they are deemed justified. Article 8 (Obligations of the Member) 1. The 'Member' must comply with relevant laws, the provisions of these Terms, user guides, and precautions announced in relation to the service, and must not engage in any other acts that interfere with the business of THE LAB. 2. The 'Member' shall not reproduce, distribute, or commercially use information, educational materials, learning data, etc., acquired while using the 'Service' without the prior consent of THE LAB. Article 9 (Disclaimer) 1. THE LAB shall be exempt from responsibility for providing the service if it is unable to do so due to natural disasters, war, suspension of service by key telecommunications service providers, or other equivalent force majeure events. 2. THE LAB shall not be responsible for any disruption in the use of the 'Service' caused by the 'Member's' fault. 3. THE LAB shall not be held liable for problems resulting from delays or inability to access the 'Service' due to server outages, policy changes, or service maintenance by external social login providers such as Google, unless there is intent or gross negligence on the part of THE LAB. 4. THE LAB shall not be responsible for the use of services provided free of charge unless otherwise specified by relevant laws. 5. THE LAB shall not be responsible for the 'Member's' loss of expected revenue from using the 'Service', nor for any damages caused by materials obtained through the 'Service'. Article 10 (Contract Termination and Member Withdrawal) 1. A 'Member' may apply to terminate the use agreement (withdrawal) at any time through the settings menu within the service or the customer center, and THE LAB must process this promptly in accordance with relevant laws. 2. For a 'Member' granted service access through the 'pre-registration' process by an administrator (or corporate and institutional clients), service use may be suspended or the contract terminated upon request or authorization revocation by the administrator of the affiliated institution. 3. Upon termination of the use agreement by a 'Member', the 'Member's' personal account information is immediately destroyed, except when THE LAB retains member information in accordance with relevant laws and the Privacy Policy. 4. Notwithstanding Paragraph 3, data such as material management data, educational material information, and other posts created for joint utilization purposes registered by the 'Member' for the business of their affiliated institution during the use of the service may not be deleted even after withdrawal to ensure the normal use of the service by the affiliated institution and others. Article 11 (Restriction on Service Use) 1. If a 'Member' violates the obligations of these Terms or interferes with the normal operation of the service, THE LAB may restrict the use of the service in stages through warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent suspension, depending on the severity of the issue. 2. Notwithstanding Paragraph 1, THE LAB may immediately take permanent suspension measures in cases of clear violations of relevant laws, such as identity theft, provision of illegal programs and business interference in violation of the Copyright Act, illegal data collection such as unauthorized crawling, and hacking and distribution of malicious programs in violation of the Information and Communications Network Act. 3. When restricting the use of the service or terminating the contract pursuant to this Article, THE LAB notifies the member via email, etc. However, for members pre-registered by an administrator, notification to the administrator of the affiliated institution may replace individual notification.
